What Willowbrook homes change about a La Cornue repair
Local housing, power events, water conditions, and installation styles all affect how we approach La Cornue diagnostics here.
Newer houses among apartments
Housing followed the mall, which opened in 1981: more than half of roughly 3,700 homes were built from 2000 through 2009. Apartments are most of the stock, and about 1,200 homes are detached.
A La Cornue range is most likely in one of those detached houses, so tell us at booking which kind of home you have. If you rent, ask the owner or manager first, since they may need to approve the visit.
Creek flooding and summer outages
During Harvey in 2017, close to 30 inches fell across the northwest Harris County watershed of Cypress Creek, and the creek and its tributaries set flood records. Even so, long summer outages visit Willowbrook's apartments and newer houses more often than floods do.
After an outage, try the breaker once, then tell us which parts of the range do not respond. We check the igniter, the electric oven and the thermostat separately.
Houses and apartments sit among the shopping centers that surround the mall. Cypress-Fairbanks ISD serves the area’s students. Tell us who will meet us and where to park.
In a newer house the range may be the oldest part of the kitchen if it came from elsewhere, so we ask where it came from. We check each flame, the oven temperature against its dial and the thermostat, as most La Cornue ranges give no codes. Send for an electrician if a breaker trips and for the gas utility if you smell gas.
