What Bunker Hill Village homes change about a La Cornue repair
Local housing, power events, water conditions, and installation styles all affect how we approach La Cornue diagnostics here.
Long driveways on wooded lots
Bunker Hill Village sits off Memorial Drive among tall pines, with wooded, generous lots and about 1,275 homes, almost all owner-occupied. The custom homes include a Frank Lloyd Wright design, the Thaxton House.
Long driveways and gated entries add time to a visit, so we ask for entry instructions in advance. Tell us who opens the gate and where to park, and send the model label photo.
Trees, limbs and long outages
Bunker Hill is defined by its trees, and the May 2024 derecho and Hurricane Beryl dropped limbs and power lines across west Houston. Many village homes spent days with warm refrigerators and freezers.
A mechanical La Cornue gas oven runs without electricity, but an electric oven, an induction cooktop or a hood motor can suffer when power returns in surges. After an outage, flip the breaker off and on once, and describe what happened.
Kitchens designed around the range
Kitchens in the village are often full custom designs with panel-ready dishwashers, column refrigeration, steam and wall ovens and warming drawers. A butler's pantry with its own dishwasher is common too.
In a design like that the hood, backsplash and cabinet gaps are usually built to fit, so we plan how to reach valves and burners without removing finished surfaces. If you have the kitchen plans or the installer's contact, send them with your booking.
Bunker Hill Village is a residential city of tall pines and long driveways off Memorial Drive. Many homes sit behind gates, so entry details matter. Send the gate instructions, the model label photo and the name of whoever will meet us.
Custom kitchens put a large range under a hood built for it, so ventilation is part of every burner complaint. We read the flame and measure the oven against its dial, since a mechanical La Cornue shows no code. An electrician is the better call when a breaker trips after an outage, and your gas supplier comes first if you smell gas.

My range is in a custom kitchen. Will you damage the finishes?
We plan the access first and avoid removing finished surfaces when we can. Send photos of the range wall with your booking.
What if a limb took out power and my oven acts strangely?
Reset the breaker once and tell us what you saw. A mechanical gas oven has no board, so we look at the supply and thermostat.
Who needs to be home?
Someone who can open the gate and show us the kitchen. A three-hour window is confirmed at booking, so the person can plan around it.
