Grand Palais 180 (US hob codes 180 US NP, NR)
La Cornue Grand Palais 180 Induction Range Repair

Most common issues on this model
- Zone power-up when the knob is turned just past zero
- Pan detection with cookware centered on the zone
- A zone that heats and then drops out, and the symbol it shows
- Each oven's temperature against its setting
The induction version of the Grand Palais 180 keeps the broad body and the twin vaulted ovens, but the hob has no gas at all. Its surface is a run of ceramic-glass induction elements, with an electric teppanyaki in the mix on some codes. Each zone is rated at 2,100 W, and no single element is rated above 3,700 W. Underneath, the two ovens can still be gas or electric.
The knobs are the only controls, and the symbol at a zone is the only feedback, so we start there. We turn each knob just past zero and watch whether the zone comes on, then set cookware on it to see if the pan symbol clears. When a zone heats and then cuts out, we note how long it ran and what the symbol showed before we test the zone itself.
The ovens get their own thermometer check. We confirm the model and serial from the label before ordering parts, and you approve a written price before we begin.

Error codes this model can show
A zone stays cold with a pan on it. Where do we begin?
With the pan. If it is magnetic, flat and centered, the zone should detect it. If the pan symbol stays on with proper cookware, we test the zone's detection and power supply.
What should I make of a symbol at one zone?
Some symbols are ordinary status signs, like pan detection or residual heat. Others are error symbols. We read which kind you have and only treat the error symbols as a service concern.
Will my oven pans work on the induction hob?
Only if they are magnetic and flat-bottomed. The vaulted ovens take any oven-safe pan. If a pan works on one zone but not another, the zone is the suspect, not the pan.
