Château 120 (US hob codes 120 US EP, ER)
La Cornue Château 120 Induction Range Repair

Most common issues on this model
- Each zone powering up and holding its heat
- Pan symbol staying lit with compatible cookware
- Error symbol at a zone, against a normal status sign
- Gas or electric oven, or the Châtelet warming drawer, against its set temperature
Choose the induction hob on a 120 cm Château and you get two induction zones beside a large induction plate, with no gas burner on the surface. The ovens still follow the body style. The Château 120 holds a gas oven and an electric oven, and the Châtelet 120 holds one gas or electric vault oven with a warming drawer. An induction hob over a gas oven is a normal combination here.
Without a display, the hob speaks only through symbols at each zone. Some merely report status, so we first tell a normal sign like pan detection from a true error. If a zone cuts out mid-cook, or holds the pan symbol with suitable cookware, we test the zone and its supply. The ovens and the warming drawer are read with a thermometer against their settings.
Reading the label for model and serial comes before we order parts, and a written price comes before work.

The hob is induction. Is the oven electric?
Not always. On the Château 120 one oven is gas and the other electric, whatever the hob. We confirm which is which from the label and test each by its own fuel.
The pan symbol stays on with my usual pot. Now what?
We check the pot is magnetic, flat and centered. If it is and the symbol stays, we test the zone's pan detection, which is separate from the cookware itself.
The warming drawer is not warm. What do we check?
On a Châtelet 120 we measure the drawer's actual temperature with a thermometer, then test its element and thermostat. A warming drawer should hold a steady, gentle heat.
