The widest cooktop in the Château line, this 180 cm model shares its hob codes with the Grand Palais 180 range, in stainless steel with no oven beneath. It comes in gas, dual-fuel and induction forms. On gas, the options include a power burner and a lava-rock grill, so the number of positions to test is large.
We confirm the hob code first and test each position by its own method. On gas that means the flame at every burner, gas pressure, and the ignition and flame-safety device on any burner that lights and drops out, plus the power burner and lava-rock grill where fitted. On induction, we test pan detection, power-up and heat at each zone, and sort the symbols into status signs and errors.
There is no display on this cooktop, so we do not read codes. Fit in the cutout is checked, and model and serial come from the label before parts are ordered. A written price comes first.

The power burner is weak but the others are normal. Why?
