The induction version of the CornuFé 90 Duo places two vaulted ovens beneath a spacious induction cooktop, with no gas burner fitted. It belongs to the newest configuration in La Cornue’s CornuFé collection.
At the hob, we start with the symbols. Pan detection and residual heat are normal, and an error symbol is what points to trouble. When a zone fails to detect a pan or cuts out mid-cook, we test it with a pan known to be magnetic and flat, then test the zone and its supply if that pan fails too.
The ovens heat independently, so each is read separately with a thermometer against its dial, since one can be off while the other is fine. The label gives model and serial before we order parts, and a written price comes first.

A zone does not detect my pan. What now?
We try cookware known to work, since a warped or non-magnetic pan will not register. If that pan also fails on one zone only, we test the zone's detection and power.
Why test the two ovens separately?
They heat independently, so a reading from one says nothing about the other. We measure each against its own dial and test the heat source and thermostat of whichever one is off.
An error symbol appeared at one zone. Is the whole hob affected?
Not necessarily. We note which zone shows it, whether other zones still work and what happens when the hob is switched off and on, then test that zone and its supply.
